Good design is long-lasting.

That’s a belief we’ve built our brand on since the 70s. No matter how close you look, you’ll see it in every single detail.

Helping homes across the world have less of an impact on the world.

While good design might be long-lasting, not everything in this world shares that trait. Waste has become a part of our every day. Because right now, waste is easy. If the equipment falters or the food looks less than perfect, discarding and buying new feels like the easiest step. When obsolescence is part of everyday design, it becomes a part of everyday life, too. We know the decisions made every day in every single home have the power to change the world.

That’s why at Braun, we’re making the decisions easier for you.

80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined at the design stage

That’s why it is important to have a systemic approach to product development following our new Group Eco-Design Guidelines, a manual developed in cooperation with experts of Politecnico di Milano that set the basis of strategic knowledge of a new - generation of eco-efficient appliances. As a step forward 70% of our newly developed products will be covered by this Eco-Design Guideline from 2023 on.

Minimisation

Energy and material consumption as well as material toxicity and harmfulness shall be minimised.

Optimisation

Life of products and components and material conservation/renewability shall be optimised.

We believe that good design can make lives better.

Back in the 70s Dieter Rams developed Braun’s memorable design language and defined 10 principles of good design that are still relevant today. While these principles have been a part of our DNA from the start, we’re always looking to the future.

Good Design is environmentally friendly.

We aim to use as little resources as possible and work on increasing the usage of materials in our products that are either recycled, recyclable, or both.

Moving forward, we are working on having at least 30% of recycled plastic over the total plastic used in newly developed/upcoming products as of 2027 according to our commitment regarding material recycling.

Moreover, we have already saved more than 100 tons of paper through the partial digitalisation of our user instruction manuals for products globally sold in 2022. Also, there was no EPS (Synthesized Expanded Polystyrene) in the packaging of 53% of the Braun products sold in 2022.

The premium Braun dishwasher-safe attachments are engineered to survive 200 cycles in a continuous dishwasher program to guarantee function and visual appearance over the product's lifetime.

Há 55 anos, recebi de presente três eletrodomésticos da Braun quando a minha filha nasceu: uma varinha mágina, um centrifugador e um espremedor de citrinos. Tenho usado os três quase todos os dias desde 1960. Por isso, gostaria de agradecer a excelente qualidade e todos os anos de utilização sem quaisquer reparações.

Com 12.375 horas de utilização.

Em 1998, comprámos um robot de cozinha Braun Combimax 700. A minha mulher gosta de cozinhar como passatempo, pelo que era utilizado quase todos os dias. E não apenas uma ou duas vezes, mas por vezes durante mais de 2 ou 3 horas - com intervalos, claro! Após cerca de 10 anos, perguntámo-nos quanto tempo mais poderia durar. Por isso, em 2008, comprámos um novo robot de cozinha - um Braun Combimax 700 também, claro - para estarmos preparados para quando o original deixasse de funcionar. Mas continuou a funcionar na perfeição. Então, a 25 de setembro de 2014 (!!!), finalmente deixou de funcionar após 16 anos e meio! Cálculo geral: 198 meses x 25 dias.
