Chociaż dobry projekt może być trwały, niewiele urządzeń można tak scharakteryzować. Współcześnie raczej wyrzucamy, niż naprawiamy, co sprawia, że odpady stały się częścią naszej codzienności. Marnowanie jest po prostu łatwiejsze. Wystarczy, że sprzęt zawodzi lub artykuły spożywcze nie wyglądają idealnie i wyrzucamy je oraz kupujemy nowe, bo to wygodniejsza droga. A przecież swoiste „starzenie się” jest nieodłączną częścią naszego życia, a także projektowania. Jako odpowiedzialna społecznie firma, zdajemy sobie z tego sprawę i rozumiemy, że pozornie małe decyzje w każdym domu, mają ogromną moc w zmienianiu świata.

Därför är det viktigt att ha ett systematiskt tillvägagångssätt för produktutveckling enligt våra nya Group Eco-Design riktlinjer, en manual som utvecklats i samarbete med experter från Politecnico di Milano och som utgör grunden för strategisk kunskap om en ny - generation av miljöeffektiva apparater. Som ett steg framåt kommer 70% av våra nyutvecklade produkter att omfattas av dessa riktlinjer för ekodesign från och med 2023.

In den 70er Jahren entwickelte Dieter Rams die Designsprache von Braun und definierte 10 Grundsätze für gutes Design, die noch heute relevant sind. Mit diesen Prinzipien, die von Anfang an Teil unserer DNA waren, blicken wir auch in die Zukunft.

Gutes Design ist umweltfreundlich.

Wir sind bestrebt, so wenig Ressourcen wie möglich zu verbrauchen, und arbeiten daran, die Verwendung von Materialien in unseren Produkten zu erhöhen, die entweder recycelt, recycelbar sind oder beides.

Gemäß unserer Verpflichtung zum Materialrecycling streben wir an, dass ab 2027 mindestens 30 % des in neu entwickelten/künftigen Produkten verwendeten Kunststoffs recycelt werden.

Darüber hinaus haben wir durch die teilweise Digitalisierung unserer Bedienungsanleitungen für Produkte, die 2022 weltweit verkauft werden, bereits mehr als 100 Tonnen Papier eingespart. Außerdem wurde bei 53 % der im Jahr 2022 verkauften Braun-Produkte kein EPS (synthetisches expandiertes Polystyrol) in der Verpackung verwendet.

In 1998, we bought a Braun Combimax 700 food processor. My wife likes to cook as a hobby, so it was used almost every day. And not just once or twice, but sometimes for more than 2 or 3 hours – with breaks of course! After about 10 years, we asked ourselves how much longer it could last. So in 2008 we bought a new food processor – a Braun Combimax 700 too, of course – in order to be prepared for when the original stopped working. But it kept working perfectly. Then, on September 25th 2014 (!!!), it finally gave up the ghost after 16 and a half years! Overall calculation: 198 months x 25 days.
