That’s a belief we’ve built our brand on since the 70s. No matter how close you look, you’ll see it in every single detail.

Helping homes across the world have less of an impact on the world.

While good design might be long-lasting, not everything in this world shares that trait. Waste has become a part of our every day. Because right now, waste is easy. If the equipment falters or the food looks less than perfect, discarding and buying new feels like the easiest step. When obsolescence is part of everyday design, it becomes a part of everyday life, too. We know the decisions made every day in every single home have the power to change the world.

That’s why at Braun, we’re making the decisions easier for you.

80% of a product’s environmental impact is determined at the design stage

That’s why it is important to have a systemic approach to product development following our new Group Eco-Design Guidelines, a manual developed in cooperation with experts of Politecnico di Milano that set the basis of strategic knowledge of a new - generation of eco-efficient appliances. As a step forward 70% of our newly developed products will be covered by this Eco-Design Guideline from 2023 on.

Minimisation

Energy and material consumption as well as material toxicity and harmfulness shall be minimised.

Optimisation

Life of products and components and material conservation/renewability shall be optimised.

Az 1970-es években Dieter Rams kifejlesztette a Braun emlékezetes dizájnyelvét, és meghatározta a jó tervezés 10 alapelvét, amelyek ma is relevánsak. Habár ezek az elvek már a kezdetektől fogva részei voltak az örökségünknek, mi mindig a jövőbe tekintünk.

A jó design környezetbarát.

Célunk az, hogy a lehető legkevesebb erőforrást használjuk fel, és növeljük a termékeinkben felhasznált anyagok arányát, amelyek vagy újrahasznosítottak vagy újrahasznosíthatók, vagy mindkettő.

A továbblépés érdekében azon dolgozunk, hogy 2027-től az újonnan fejlesztett/jövőbeli termékekben a műanyag teljes mennyiségének legalább 30%-a újrahasznosított legyen az újrafeldolgozása iránti elkötelezettségünknek megfelelően.

Továbbá, már több mint 100 tonna papírt takarítottunk meg a világszerte 2022-ben eladott termékeink felhasználói útmutatóinak részleges digitalizálásával. Ezenkívül a 2022-ben eladott Braun termékek 53 százalékának a csomagolásában nem volt EPS (Szintetizált tágított polisztirol).

In 1998, we bought a Braun Combimax 700 food processor. My wife likes to cook as a hobby, so it was used almost every day. And not just once or twice, but sometimes for more than 2 or 3 hours – with breaks of course! After about 10 years, we asked ourselves how much longer it could last. So in 2008 we bought a new food processor – a Braun Combimax 700 too, of course – in order to be prepared for when the original stopped working. But it kept working perfectly. Then, on September 25th 2014 (!!!), it finally gave up the ghost after 16 and a half years! Overall calculation: 198 months x 25 days.
