Ingredients

Servings:
Makes:

1  onion
1 clove garlic
2  carrots
3  celery stalks
1 tbsp. oil
150 grams red lentils
1 tsp. cumin, optional
50 grams crème fraîche
  salt
1 tsp. curry powder
800 grams tinned chopped tomatoes
240 grams tinned chickpeas, optional
200 ml water

Instructions

STEP 1/5

Peel the onion, garlic and carrots and clean the celery stalks. Put all together in Braun’s MultiQuick 9 500ml chopper attachment and chop roughly.

STEP 2/5

Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the vegetables for about 5 minutes.

STEP 3/5

Add the lentils, season with cumin, curry, salt and pepper. (Drain and rinse the chickpeas and add as well if desired.)

STEP 4/5

Deglaze with tomatoes and 200ml water and simmer for about 10 minutes.

STEP 5/5

Season to taste and serve with a dollop of crème fraîche.

Tip: If you like, you can serve basmati rice with the dish. This recipe was prepared using Braun’s MultiQuick 9 (MQ 9135XI). Prepare the recipe also with one of our other models. A 500ml chopper attachment is not necessarily needed but you can simply use the food processor attachment with the chopping tool instead.
