The Green solid light above the "clean" button means the unit requires descaling. The removal of built-up calcium deposits from the water reservoir will help extend the life of your coffee maker and keep your coffee tasting great. Frequency will depend upon the hardness of your tap water and how often you use the coffee maker. Please follow these instructions for cleaning your unit. Remove the charcoal water filter holder including the charcoal water filter and the gold tone permanent filter Add 100 ml (3.2 oz) of descaling solution to a full carafe of water.  Pour the water and cleaner into the water reservoir of the machine and place the empty carafe in its position. Press the CLEAN button. The green LED light above the button will start flashing. Press BREW  to start the descaling program, while the green LED light is still flashing. Once the descaling process has started, it is not possible to stop the program until finished. When the descaling program has been completed, the green LED light will turn off. Discard the cleaning solution and rinse the carafe thoroughly with clean water. Fill the water reservoir with a full carafe of clean, fresh water. Run the coffee maker through two complete brew cycles to flush the unit after descaling. Use a full carafe of fresh cold water each time.

Use of the charcoal water filter is optional, but strongly recommended. The filter eliminates chlorine, bad tastes and odors from tap water. The coffee maker will operate normally without it.  Remove the charcoal water filter from polybag and soak in cold tap water a minium of 15 minutes. Remove the charcoal water filter holder from the coffee maker by lifting it out of the water reservoir Gently press down the stem and pull toward you. Compartment will flip open. Place the charcoal water filter in the water filter holder and close it; you will hear a snap indicating it is in place.  Hold the filter under cold running tap water for 10 seconds to flush. You should place the hole openings directly under the water stream.  Allow the filter to drain completely.  Position the green indicator to the month you installed the charcoal water filter. We recommend changing the charcoal water filter every 2 months, more often if you have hard tap water. Replace the charcoal water filter holder in the water reservoir of the coffee maker, pushing it all the way down to the base of the unit, along the reservoir wall. NOTE: Caution must be used when inserting the charcoal water filter. Improper placement in the water filter holder can cause tearing of the filter skin.

The H2O error code indicates a few things: It could mean that there is not enough water in the tank for the selected beverage; or it could indicate the water tank in not seated properly in the unit and there is air in the circuit. If the H2O error appears, completely remove the water tank from the unit, reinsert it by firmly pushing it into place, and fill the tank with at least 1.5 liters (50 ounces of water). Turn the unit off and then back on to clear the error. If this does not help, remove the water tank again and reinsert it ensuring it clicks back into place. You may need to try this a few times to clear any air in the line and clear the error.

The perfect Cold Brew drink start with using the proper amount of coffee based on the drink size. If you find a watery tasting coffee, we recommend preparing it in a carafe without ice, placing it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and serving it later with ice. You should stir the coffee before serving to blend the flavours. The coffee at the bottom of the carafe will be somewhat stronger than the coffee at the top.

Over Ice: This is a process brewing the coffee using hot water directly over ice to obtain cold coffee. For a less diluted Over Ice beverage, we recommend brewing the coffee without ice and waiting for it to cool before adding ice. Cold Brew: This is a process brewing the coffee using room temperature water. The coffee is brewed at lower temperature to enhance its sweet and full-bodied properties. To obtain a perfect Cold Brew drink, we recommend preparing it in a carafe without ice, placing it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and serving it with ice.
