Why is my coffee maker overflowing?

1. Insert the filter basket correctly2. Be sure the carafe is centered directly under the filter basket3. Place the lid on the carafe4. There might be too much coffee grounds. Remove filter from the filter basket. If using a paper filter, replace with new one. Restart the coffee brewing process with proper amount of coffee grounds5. Use only coffee that is ground for drip coffee makers
