Other aspects to keep in mind when shopping for groceries
Buy fresh produce, ideally organic products or products with an environmental sticker or label. Mass-produced food products contain lots of additives and it is often difficult to identify where their ingredients came from. If possible, buy unpackaged fruit and vegetables; not only does this avoid waste, it also means you can buy exactly the quantity you need. Local weekly markets are usually particularly good for this. When shopping, avoid using plastic bags and instead bring your own carrier bags, jute bags, reusable fruit and vegetable nets and foldable crates.
