Why is my drip coffee brewing slowly or not at all?

• Make sure only the permanent filter or paper filter is being used. Do not use both.                                                                                        
•  Be sure the machine has been descaled. Try descaling the unit.     
•  Be sure when inserting the carafe that the lid is on properly and the bump on the lid is touching the tab on the bottom of the filter holder pushing it up so it is open to drip the water.  
• Check that the tab and spring are in place on the bottom of the filter holder.
