The AUTO OFF feature can be set to turn the unit off after brewing. The auto off time can be set from 0 to 4 hours by following these steps depending on the model you have: KF5350 Press the ON Button Turn the dial to “AUTO OFF” The default setting (2 hours) will start flashing. Press the “SET” button and by pressing the “OK” button you can select the desired auto off time If during the setting process no button is pressed for 10 seconds, the auto off time currently set will be saved. This function can only be activated if the auto off time has been set. KF5650 Press the ON Button Press and hold the CLOCK and SET button together for 3 seconds. The default setting (2 hours) will start flashing. For the best performance from your Braun coffee maker, descale the unit when the CLEAN button light turns permanently on. This indicates it is time to descale your coffee maker. Frequency will depend upon the hardness of your water, beverage size and how often you use the coffee maker. We recommend using the Braun Descaling Solution you can purchase directly from our website. Follow these steps to descale your machine: Press the On/Off button; Place the lever in position “Coffee”; Remove the gold tone permanent filter and the charcoal filter; Press the CLEAN button for 3 seconds. “CLEAN” starts flashing and the display shows CLE; Fill the descaling solution (follow packaging instruction on the descaling agent) in the water reservoir; Place the empty carafe in its position on the keep warm plate; Press the CLEAN button again to start the descaling process: CLEAN reduces its brightness and the countdown timer starting from “23” appears in the display and you hear an acoustic signal. Once the descaling process has started, it is not possible to stop the program until finished; When the water reservoir is empty the countdown timer in the display shows H2O. CLEAN starts flashing and you hear an acoustic signal; Empty the carafe; Refill the water reservoir with a full carafe (not exceeding 10 cups) of fresh water, place the empty carafe on the keep-warm plate and press again CLEAN to start the rinsing cycle. CLEAN reduces its brightness; When the descaling program has been completed, the On/Off button is flashing, CLEAN turns off and the display shows “End” and you hear an acoustic signal; Empty the carafe and rinse it thoroughly with water. We recommend running the coffee maker through two complete brew cycles to flush the unit after descaling. Use a full carafe of fresh cold water each time.

The perfect Cold Brew drink start with using the proper amount of coffee based on the drink size. If you find a watery tasting coffee, we recommend preparing it in a carafe without ice, placing it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and serving it later with ice. You should stir the coffee before serving to blend the flavors. The coffee at the bottom of the carafe will be somewhat stronger than the coffee at the top.

When choosing a Cold Brew drinks, the half and full carafe will deliver less coffee taking into account the amount of ice that is later required. The half carafe will yield approximately 22oz. The full carafe will yield approximately 25oz. To obtain a perfect Cold Brew drink, we recommend preparing it in a carafe without ice, placing it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes and serving it with ice.

Press and hold HR to scroll through the hours. Release it once the desired hour is displayed. Press and hold MIN to scroll through the minutes. Release it once the desired minutes are displayed. After a few seconds the clock turns permanently on and the time set is automatically saved. Please Note: When the number count passes 12, the PM light will be displayed. When the coffee maker is first plugged in or when power is restored after an interruption, the display starts flashing 12:00 AM and you hear an acoustic signal.

Why is the "keep warm" plate on my MultiServe coffee maker not getting hot?

The keep warm plate will only be active when you are using the settings to make a half or full carafe of coffee. The warming plate will not be active for over ice or cold brew beverages. The machine is preset for 2 hours, but you can change this time and set the keep warm plate to heat for 15 minutes or up to 4 hours. Once you switch the lever to "drip stop" the keep warm plate will turn off, you must reactivate the keep warm plate by pressing the keep warm button. If you want to manually activate the keep warm function move the lever to "Drip stop", select half or full carafe setting and press keep warm button. The preset time is 30 minutes but you can customize up to 4 hours by pressing the buttons "HR" "MIN"

You can disable the beeping sound by following these steps: Position the lever in the "drip stop" position Press and hold the "Bold" and "Gold" button together for 3 seconds to disable. To enable it again, repeat the same above steps.
