In 2023, a broad restriction proposal was submitted to ECHA. Certain types are currently under review by European and international authorities to better understand their potential impact on health and the environment. Expert committees are now carefully assessing the evidence to determine the next steps. This process ensures that PFAS use is regularly evaluated and managed under clear and transparent guidelines.

“PFAS-free” is not legally defined in the EU or other markets - it is a voluntary claim. To ensure full transparency, Braun Household, being part of the De’Longhi Group, has developed its own PFAS testing protocol in collaboration with an independent accredited institute. This protocol goes beyond existing regulations, such as POP, REACh and food contact material standards, and allows Braun Household to verify that the non-stick coatings used in its products meet specific internal requirements. When you see the “PFAS-free” label on a Braun Household product, it means the cooking surface has successfully passed this voluntary, additional testing process - reflecting the Group’s proactive approach to going beyond compliance.
