How does the Braun iron auto-off function work?

The Braun iron auto-off function is a safety feature and saves energy. It is automatically activated after 10 minutes if there has been no steam emission or the water tank is empty. To turn the iron on again, the On/Off button has to be pressed and it is necessary to wait until the iron is heated up again. (The feature is not included in low-end models.)
