Braun Hand Blender Strawbery and Vanilla Semifreddo Recipe

  • 1 lb. fresh strawberries
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 2/3 cup heavy whipping cream

  1. Place strawberries in a bowl. Using Braun's Multiquick blending shaft, puree the strawberries until smooth.
  2. Place a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water (make sure the bottom of the bowl is not touching the water).
  3. Beat the eggs, egg yolks, sugar and vanilla using the whisk accessory, until the mixture is pale and thickened (about 5 minutes).
  4. Remove from heat and continue whisking at a medium speed until it has cooled and thickened slightly.
  5. Add the cream to the beaker attachment. Using the cleaned whisk attachment, whip the cream until soft peaks form and then gently fold it into the egg mixture with a spatula.  
  6. Combine half the cream mixture with the puréed strawberries. Starting with the strawberry mixture, alternatively layer with the plain cream/egg mixture into six 8- ounce glasses. Freeze overnight until firm.
  7. Garnish with fresh strawberries and serve.
