Braun Hand Blender Cornmeal Pancakes Recipe

Ingrédients

  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2-4 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¾ cup low-fat buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp melted unsalted butter, cooled +additional butter for cooking pancakes
  • 2 eggs separated 

 

  1. Combine cornmeal, salt, sugar, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl.
  2. In a separate bowl, using the Braun Multiquick whisk attachment, whisk together buttermilk, melted butter, and 2 egg yolks, starting on low speed and gradually increasing until well combined. Add to dry ingredients and mix together on low speed until just combined using the whisk attachment. Rinse whisk.
  3. Add the egg whites to the Braun Multiquick beaker attachment. Beat egg whites on high speed with whisk attachment until soft peaks form, and then fold into batter.
  4. Heat a large non-stick skillet and melt 1 tsp butter on medium high heat. Using a 1/4 cup measuring cup, pour each pancake on skillet, leaving space to be able to flip pancakes. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. When cooked on both sides remove from skillet and serve with yogurt, fresh berries and real maple syrup.
