Café au lait

Café au lait is traditionally drunk at breakfast in France. It is best made with a third of a cup of strong filter coffee or espresso and two thirds of a cup of hot milk. The Italian alternative is known as caffè latte, which is prepared in the same way but with a topping of foamed milk.
